Yes, I've also found Blackrock a puzzle - I've often wondered if they have some system going where they make their money by loaning stocks out for shorting somehow. Certainly an SSH notice from them seems to have been the "kiss of death" on a few stocks I've seen!

I also think that in the time where information on director buying has become more available, it has (like many stock market indicators do when popularised), become less reliable.
