the west Australian is reporting that the deal is highly unlikely to be stopped on FIRB grounds.
Looks like it will go ahead... only issue is price.
At the current offer it's 94 cents per gigajoule of proven and probable gas reseveres.
Compare that to BG's bid for QGC which was $2.05 and Santos into esg for $2.86.
The highest price was $3.93 per gg back in the heady days of 2008.
Plenty of upside.
