I dont know how long you have been in the market for, but at least for the last 18 months, sentiment heavily outweighs fundamentals, not only applies for MRE. I think this will continue for another year at least. MRE is a long term proposition, I still look at nickel prices and LME stockpiles on a daly basis, but learned not to use it as a measuring stick.
