I'm just reading on speculation about Tanzania, gas supplies, energy demand, Aminex & Orca over on stockopedia and it got me to wondering at the delays and intentions with the Kiliwani North gas field.
Fact is that Orca and/or the Tanzanian government are dragging the chain on the Songas expansion. Likewise Aminex and the JV partners are dragging out the release of the size of the Kiliwani North gas field (surely by now they should have some idea, at least enough to make an initial estimate).
What games are being played out here? Orca is holding out on the Songas expansion until tariffs and funding arrangements are agreed upon.
I have read from KEY previously that they had commissioned research on proposed plans to take gas to the market one idea included a new gas plant to be built on the mainland.
Is the talk about Key utilising a tie-in to the Songas plant a furphy? Are they really planning something else but holding back to deliberately delay the Songas plant expansion? Is there something else afoot? Any thoughts?
