Would you know what happens to ROY shares that for example I sell today (19th)? I have contacted share registry and they indicated that I may not get the rights on these shares as I would probably no longer be the registered owner at COB on the 22nd and the buyer has bought ex rights so they wont get them either. Seema a bit odd!
Any shares that you hold in ROY as at COB on evening of 15/10/09 you are entitled to the rights. If you sold ROY yesterday, you are still entitled to 1:1 ROYR, and the share registery is talking total and utter rubbish.
If sold yesterday more than likely you will fall register on 26/10/09, well after the cut-off date. I would just you ring the register today and make sure that you were still on the books at 15/10/09, in which case you should have your ROYR in yr account.
BTW if anyone has not worked out there is an an amazing trading opportunity in ROY and ROYR with ROYR offering what is effectively a 30% discount right now.
It is beyond me why anyone would be buying ROY today and in fact up until 5th Nov, it makes no sense whatsoever. I have purchased more ROYR and am looking to offload all my ROY asap.
