GUD Holdings Limited (“GUD”) today announces the acquisition of 19.4 per cent of the shares in Breville Group Limited (“Breville”) for total consideration of approximately $18.1 million ($0.72 per share).
GUD Managing Director, Ian Campbell said “As the owner of Sunbeam, the acquisition of 19.4 per cent of Breville is an attractive investment opportunity for GUD, satisfying the company’s strategic and financial objectives. GUD was approached to buy the shares and has no current intention to acquire further shares in Breville.”
The acquisition is to be funded from GUD’s available cash reserves and is expected to be self-funding at current Breville dividend levels. The investment is expected to be broadly earnings per share neutral.
