In your experience wafarmer did you feel like you were being reamed when the price of wheat was $430/t? Umm and why didn't you sell grain into that price and out three years to preserve that gut wrenching feeling? The profitability of farmers and commodity producers in general is always a function of the value of the underlying commodity not conspiracy theories. The same skills you are now going to have to learn to market your grain are the very same skills you are going to have to learn to manage your costs such as fertilizer as well. Whilst I was taking a piece of the $400/t wheat pie I was also actively taking a piece of the cheap fertilizer pie. Still haven't paid over $800/t for a single tonne of fertilizer. I know guys around me who paid $1600/t for their entire compound fertilizer program. Effeciency does not come from scale it comes from getting the smarts in allocating capital ...

So sharpen the pencil and stop that whinging ... much opportunity out there for those who want to embrace it, especially now socialism has been eradicated!
