    re: profitability Jid, you mean thermal coal (for electricity generation), not coking coal.

    Rio Tinto and Australia's biggest thermal coal exporter, Xstrata, are understood to have settled thermal coal prices at $US70 to $US72 a tonne with Japan's Chubu Electric.
