The board knows how much I believed in ERG.
I researched and researched. I went through the machinations of ERG v CUBIC etc

What I never realised was the disaster that was JA Watkins as minister of Transport . IT is now almost true to say that he was the worst minister that department had as far as the Tcard project.
He had no desire and ability to go into his dept and see what was happening.

John pulled the wool over SMH reporters....all except Linton Besser. They saw John as an effective minister. "Good performer' they said.
In the machinations to decide M Iemma's successor John was never CONSIDERED FOR A SECOND.
Almost anybody else.
Carmel Tebutt or Nathan Reese. John got deputy premier over C Tebutt by threatening to resign if he did not get it.
John was good at 'bus stopping' ie looking good at his electorate.
