SIGNIFICANT GOLD INTERSECTIONS RETURNED FROM THE OLD
CAMP AREA AT SIHAYO 1 NORTH, INDONESIA
HIGHLIGHTS
First pass drilling at Old Camp Area, located at the Pungkut Gold Project, returns
thick intersections of gold in jasperoidal regolith and primary jasperoid.
Results include 27m @ 2.36g/t Au from surface in regolith; 10m @ 2.50g/t Au
from 58m, and 14m @ 2.35g/t Au from 82m in primary mineralisation.
Opportunity for further gold mineralisation in silty limestone over a 1.3km trend,
with potential to increase the 910,000oz Sihayo 1 North resource.
Emerging gold company Oropa Limited (ASX Code: “ORP” – “Oropa”) is pleased to announce
significant drill intersections from the Old Camp Area, located in the Sihayo 1 North prospect, part
of the Company’s 75%-owned Pungkut Gold Project in North Sumatra, Indonesia.
Drilling to the east of the main Sihayo 1 North Inferred Resource, which currently comprises
12.1mt @ 2.4g/t Au for 910,000 ounces of gold, targeting gold found in test-pits of regolith
material discovered both thick intervals of gold in regolith and a new primary jasperoid gold
mineralisation.
Significant results from drilling at the Old Camp area have been received and include:
SHDD112: 27m @ 2.36 ppm from surface
1m @ 1.04 ppm from 47m
2m @ 1.44 ppm from 51m
10m @ 2.50 ppm from 58m
14m @ 2.35 ppm from 82m
SHDD113: 2m @ 1.64 ppm from 17m

In May 2008, Sihayo 1 North reported an impressive 49% increase in the Inferred Resource to 12.1
million tonnes grading 2.4g/t gold for 910,000 ounces of contained gold. Combined with the
nearby Sambung resource estimation completed the previous year, the total Inferred Resources for
the project have increased to in excess of 1 million ounces of gold.
A scoping Study into the economics of bring these combined resources to mining is currently being
conducted by SRK Consulting (Australasia) Pty Ltd, with results anticipated in mid-September
2008.
The Old Camp Area had previously been interpreted to be closed off by a fence of drill holes to the
east of the Sihayo 1 North Inferred Resource that were completed by Oropa in 2005. However, a
recent re-interpretation of the Sihayo 1 North geology identified fault zones through the deposit
truncating the lithology and jasperoids, thereby creating the possibility for further mineralisation
beyond these eastern fault zones.
Current drilling is following up on gold in jasperoidal regolith material identified in earlier trenching
and more recent test-pitting. Tertiary sediments and regolith blanket the area obscuring the
bedrock, as occurs over a significant portion of the Sihayo 1 North resource. This opens the
potential for further gold mineralisation in the Old Camp Area. Previous Induced Polarization (IP)
geophysics is assisting with the interpretation in this area.
Early drilling has revealed areas of thick jasperoidal regolith, up to 26m in hole SHDD112, which
contains gold. Thick jasperoidal regolith in other areas of Sihayo 1 North are usually associated
with sink-holes in the limestone, and the jasperoid is likely to be semi-continuous with primary
mineralisation. Significantly, Oropa’s early drilling reveals thick intervals of jasperoid containing
gold in dark-silty limestone beneath the regolith.
Silty limestone occurs in holes SHDD112, SHDD113, SHDD117, SHDD119, and SHDD120. Initial
interpretations indicate that the dark silty limestone forms in deep channels in surrounding nonprospective
marbles (recrystallised limestone) and volcanics. Broad spaced drilling is required to
delineate the extent of the silty limestone and jasperoid before more detailed drilling is conducted.
Jasperoid in silty limestone occurs 800m away along strike to the north-west in Sihayo 2 prospect,
opening the possibility for extensive jasperoid in this stratigraphically favourable horizon. 500m to
the south-east drill hole SHDD023 beyond the fault line also contains silty limestone and recorded
a significant intercept of 4.2m @ 3.36 ppm from 10.55m.
Nine diamond drill holes have been completed in this program with assays pending for 6 holes.
With the early success in this drilling campaign of a blind exploration target, Oropa is confident that
further mineralisation will be discovered with the potential to increase the resource base and
increase the robustness of the Sihayo 1 North deposit.
