Whether a mine is low cost or not is not measuring its cost of production against the current metal price.
Its measuring it against the other copper producers. It needs to be put up against the "cost curve" of the worlds producers. At 0.65 cents a lb, no I wouldnt say it MRX was a low cost producer, it would be mid to high tier.
I presume 65 cents/lb is the operating cost/lb, which is the valid unit to be used for comparison.
However to get the total profit margin you need to know the capital cost per ounce, and I presume that will not be known for MRX until the feasibility is finished. One advantage of a growing resource base as is happening with MRX is that the capital cost/ounce is dropping as each resource tonne is added.
Dont get me wrong Billy, I think MRX is one of the best junior resource stocks around at the moment.
