G'day CUB, when a mining district traditionally seems to underperform, there is usually a reason -the geology is just not amenable to economic ore zones, and if you dont do enough drilling, you can fall flat on your face. Places like Menzies, Mt Ida, with their short, shallow shoots (albeit sometimes rich), Davyhurst.........had potential for good "syndicate" sized mines, but certainly never hosted "company-maker" orebodies. There are considerable risks in exploration & not everyone strikes it rich. Failure does not mean incompetence in grass-roots exploration -it just means your ground wasnt good enough. But I agree with you, too many stake their company's future on revamped-revamped-revamped ground.
cheers GZ
