US and likely China just wanted some regime change........... They got it.
As for Fayulu, he is Bemba and Katumbi’s proxy. All that came clear in an Al Jazeera interview.
Katumbi also lobbied US, (all the Congolese groups do that), as you can see in your quote Katumbi gets a mention RE lobbying.
Kabila actually instigated the engagement with US as well, via a government official in July 2018 with a seminar in the US.
Most likely to legitimise his money...
