Some of management began their careers with Soul Pattinson, and a fundamental part of the Soul Pattinson philosophy was that if an offer was made for the company, or any part of it, that the Directors felt was greater than what they considered it's true value, then they were obliged to accept such an offer as part of their duty to the shareholders.
