To paraphrase Christopher Hitchens, if a baby fall out of a window and survives by falling on soft grass, it is God's action of suspending "the force of nature"; when millions of babies die through lack of clean drinking water then God moves in mysterious ways.

I think that some consistency may be useful.

Hi whereu, not sure what your point is, but I believe its about the suffering of innocent people, to be honest, I don't know why, everybody grieves and don't like people suffering.

I have't really followed it up with bible verse, I can only give you an assumption if I tried. I can only give you my view

The earliest Christians believed that God himself came down in Jesus Christ, God lived with men as man, that man might be taught to live the divine life: God lived on man's level, that men might be able to live at God's level: God was found weak, that man might become most strong.

Jesus himself cried at human suffering and also was crucified, so going by the above early Christian believe, maybe in suffering there might be some merits for humanity that we haven't got the wisdom to understand.

The early martyrs, most went willingly, so maybe it's something that's been lost through the ages, especially in this modern times.

Trust me, suffering does change us, I know, I saw both my parents die of cancer, then I got it, 4mts later my wife got it, this I can tell you, I'm not the same person I was before that experience, suffering does have an effect on us all, even in our culture, I seen many good caring medical people, I'm sure they change also with what they see.
