The Asian century is set to begin Financial Times.pdf
The point of the article is that when any country/region reaches a certain purchasing power parity (PPP), the issue of water treatment and distribution rises to the forefront of economic priority. For that matter, all aspects of infrastructural developement have to be addressed ie transportation, power generation and distribution etc.
By next year, Asia will also become home to half of the world’smiddle class, defined as those living in households with daily per capita incomes of between $10and $100 at 2005 purchasing power parity (PPP).
FLC is in the right place, at the right time. Emerging countries will not go straight to the $500m sized desal plants on the outset but seek out mid sized plants that FLC is strong in. Plus, the mass adoption of desalination has begun, brought about the price of membranes coming cheaper. See Post #:37892039. Add on to that, we have higher PPP in countries like Vietnam, Egypt, China and Philippines, al this brings us to FLC.
I am pointing out the obvious to the oldies, but people new to FLC, do have a read.
