Carl Sagan's comment; "We are a way for the cosmos to know itself" has very little to do with - [as]Abdu'l-Baha put it "There are four kinds of love.......The third is the love of God towards the Self or Identity of God. This is the transfiguration of His Beauty, the reflection of Himself in the mirror of His Creation. This is the reality of love, the Ancient Love.
Sagan was simply talking about awareness/consciousness.....that through us the universe has acquired the awareness. Love, etc, is a different issue.
