I'm a bit pissed off for not foreseeing this potential change to 'hearables' as I have been aware of the Scottish NHS tender since January (which I later posted a link to on Tuesday) and I self questioned the clarification of 'hearables' but took it as a possible positive which would potentially allow us to register for more than one Lot i.e in addition to Lot 1 moderate hearing aids.

My frustration with the vague ANN prompted me to email Nuheara direct for the first time seeking clarification. My query was very specific in regards to Lot 1 versus Lot 5 and questioned the non price sensitive nature of the ANN. Yet to receive a response unlike Tall Plumber.

I need to be careful here so please bare with me.... someone may have called Puretone direct today under the legitimate guise of finding out more information about the product they supply retail and said conversation may have led to enquiring about the pending availability on the NHS. Before the employee questioned the particular and detailed nature of the enquiry I heard the phrase ''thats all up in the air just now''.... end of conversation.

Please note the above was a merely an attempt from a retail investor to try and seek further clarification and the small bit of information obtained is open to interpretation and should not be taken as fact. Anyway, it pretty much reenforces what was contained within the ANN so no great revelation out with the scope and right, to speculate further in light of the lack any form of distinct clarification.

Not willing to elaborate further as it is what it was but please note I'm taking this as a positive in that I believe certain powers at be with controlling interests having placed pressure on Boosts being de-classified within in Lot 1 and the 1 month extension detailed within the ANN is an attempt to clarify the situation with the immediate (hopefully short term) fall back of being re-classifed in Lot 5.

Alternatively, I may be wrong and the NHS have recognised this pressure and are attempting to circumvent the big 6 pressure by re-classifying boost as a 'hearable' but within the confines of Lot 1. Again, just speculating.

Or thirdly, they have done a complete u turn after suddenly coming to the conclusion... 'what the feck were we thinking including these fancy buds in Lot 1'

Lets remember they originally included boosts in Lot 1 as they recognised it's suitability for mild to moderate hearing loss and it allowed them to service a market which they were unable to satisfy (proven fact) due to the inherent cost and boosts offered a new alternative. Hopefully we will find out within the next month.

Again just speculating but if boosts aren't unsuccessful in getting re-classifed in Lot 1 then Max may stand a better chance due to the significant increase in power.

I don't wish to comment any further in terms of managements handling of the situation as they may have legitimate reasons to mark the ANN as non price sensitive. I hope I'm right on that point as trust is everything at this end of the market.

As already picked up on by others, I don't believe the NHS deal was factored into the share price prior to Mondays ANN so hopefully we can pick up from here.

This said, I still feel there is something else brewing here apart from the NHS which may indeed end up being a red herring but time will tell on that front.

In my opinion I'm hoping for a joint venture / partnership with Specsavers. The recent NHS update poured cold water on this front but after further thought... were Specsavers relying on being able to dispense boosts for free via the NHS or could a better margin be obtained from actually selling them? Especially in consideration to the poor offerings currently available for free on the NHS and the potential to up sell to the MAX and indeed the TV streamer?

Don't get me started on Lives! ... that would be a very welcome ANN.

All i'm interested in is stimulating an educated debate where alternative perspectives and thoughts can be exchanged, both positive and negative.

However, overly critical thoughts and comments without any great substance will be taken with a pinch of salt and their source sentiment duly taking into consideration. I'm all for non / ex holders contributing but to be honest I've never quite understood why certain posters (but not all) consistently sacrifice their time doing so. I just don't get it and spare me the 'but it's a public forum and I can do what I want' but I guess thats the price of freedom of speech.

The big 6 have never played fair in this sector so i don't expect it to start now. They won't sit back and watch as it is such high margin and high volume.
They have many offerings at so many levels and as you would be aware can reconfigure by turning on and off features at various value points.
They just don't have IMO a device that is fashionable and multipurpose that covers the full life of clients
Do they have a value proposition for hearables that they can get to market or will they just " take over" a company that has after they beat it into submission via all regulatory and contractual , tender tools , deep pockets at their disposal?

NHS and equivalents in every country all with different structures have massive budgetary issues and also issues of actually servicing clients and small policy and definition/ classification changes can have massive affects . They also close the door and change the rules if the budget can't afford it with popular treatment etc

It is getting very interesting
