    No respect for settled science and an insult to all righteous alarmist pundits.
    What is the matter with these animals!
    They have been told repeatedly that they are gone, kaput, marooned on shrinking bits of ice. But do they pay heed to the dictats of life's ranking order?
    The hell they do. Whatever we say they refuse to go away. Indeed, according to "The Polar Bear Catastrophe That Never Happened" their numbers are up to around 40,000 from a low of 10,000 in the 1960s.

    Pass around the tin for the WWF.

    In a similar act of defiance, one of those pesky Greenland ice sheets has refused to continue retreating and has decided to launch an advance instead. The only thing to do in these circumstances is to send another expeditionary force of Vikings to restore order & discipline.
