thanks for the responses!:) yes, have been looking at a few index funds.. ishares and vanguard... only reservation is the low yield levels compared to my other LICs. while i intend to buy and hold for a long time (say 30+ years :D), i'd rather my investments return a better yield or comparable to my other LICs..
anyway, will have a look at the fairholme funds and berkshire.. btw, did u know that there's an LIC that invest mostly in Berkshire? with the balance of its portfolio in cash.. i think its called Global Masters or something like that.. i am thinking of buying a bit of TGG templeton global growth and see how they go.. they are diversified, apparently passive investor and pay fully franked divs... just gotta watch that 1% MER :)
