Sorry maybe I should have been more precise with my question. What makes you think that BIT has better than a 50% chance of succeeding?
I can't answer your question as to why people invest in spec biotech, but I suspect it is similar to the reason people bet on the horses or go to the casino.
I can't tell you which biotechs will succeed, but I can tell with a reasonable level of probability which ones will fail.
