So on further thinking SMR, the significance of these results depend on the size of the horst-grabben.
Are we dealing with a small block system or are we dealing with one that covers a considerable chunk of Candelas ?
This all depends on whether it’s controlled by the regional faulting or if it’s simply a local anomaly that is a micro geological response to the tectonic stresses that only covers hundreds of meters. The problem as I see it with a small structure is that its more likely to act as a barrier to fluid flows. But then does it contribute to any of the potential hydrothermal feeders. It could be like a pipe feeding the whole of this area, perhaps this is why JP wanted a drill in it. I suspect whatever the size he’s chasing a significant part of the feeder modelling for Candelas.
Logic says that there must be a hydrothermal/s somewhere emerging from the bedrock and given there’s a big drop in bedrock height in the vicinity of Line 4 and a hanging wall style fault this is as good a place as any to have a look.
The other circumstantial factor that says a bit to me is just how long they are spending on this hole. If they were having drill issues surely they’d annc to market as do oilers. So if all’s ok and they are being meticulous with hole 2 the question becomes why would U bother ? If they weren’t finding fluids worth testing why continue with hole 2.
I keep coming back to JPs use of the word POTENTIAL at line 4.
Just one other thing.
It looks to me like the C survey has more of the southern part of Candelas with this deeper bedrock but tilted to the west. So does this translate to the thinking that this horst-grabben is actually quite substantial, not a horst-grabben in the traditional sense, but one with some tilt to it.
Would that then make it a different structure ?
Im hoping JP can enlighten us on some of this stuff in the next annmnt cos if they have this part of the modelling right then imo they have their heads around the rest.
And the I come back to my most basic question. Why drill down at line 4 if U went confident of a result. Ballsy, enthusiatic or they really know what’s going on ?
