Two people don't constitute "Pretty much every single New Testament scholar and Islamic scholar"
Who says that they are all in agreement on the meaning of the theological/symbolism/spiritual interpretations?.
There is, for example, very little agreement on the nature of Christ between Muslims, Jews and Christians.
They should just respectively agree to disagree about doctrinal beliefs which appears to be difficult.
