Pretty much every single New Testament scholar and Islamic scholar recognises there is a vast theological/symbolism/spiritual language in a large chunk of both Books.
Emeritus Pope Benedict even recently stated in his book "Jesus of Nazareth" that the "clouds" that Jesus ascended to and by way of which He will return are NOT literal clouds. The whole ascension and return has spiritual language throughout it.
Reza Aslan unequivocally states that the Quran is first spiritual language, then historical language.
