    There has been lots of chats about the horst graben and downthrown block been the reasons why we have not hit brine at DH2 as yet (as far as we know).

    Let me state at the outset I am not qualified in anything really much less geology etc but I have had a look around and imo it seems to me (folks offline I chat to may know this already) that I feel there is a geo barrier between the top of our land and CSMAT 2. I use barrier as a novice in this area and not as a expert.

    Below is a real life example of a horst and graben, pretend for a moment that's underground and the purple line is the "brine line". We can see how during the graben that everything drops. I am not convinced this is what we are dealing with.

    I am of the view that we may in fact have two grabens meeting below cmsat 1 and before csmat 2. The left of this image below demonstrates that. Pretend for the purposes of this image that the bottom layer is the brine and the two horsts on each side are the hills on either side of candelas. IMO that might explain on an extended basis the geo barrier below csmat 1 and the greater depths at DH2.

    Below shows a horst and graben similar to candelas, but I don't think its that simple or our brine would continue at a similar depth to DH1.

    I hypothesise that at the top of this image lets pretend that's the border of GXY and us that there is a geo barrier there potentially two Grabens meeting there that means the depths from there all along will be deeper but the brine will still be there.

    Its also possible that the Graben is acting as a barrier such as the Fulda Graben below and wherever the actual Graben is that there is no brine. In the image below assume the left blue is DH1, then we have the Graben then we have a lake of brine at similar depths to DH1. This is another option but is more unlikely than my graben-graben option above imo.

    It is possible that once in the second graben that the grades may then be more concentrated. See this real life example below where the grades increased quite dramatically. Its fair to ask which Graben DH1 was in the left of the right? 1 answer is brilliant and one not so much.

    There is also the possibility of the down thrown block which based on the below could see the brine zone continue to be the lake that many thought it was and this theory would perhaps support the theory that our land feeds GXY et al.

    Whatever the situation is imo there are three main options;
    - a graben/graben meeting somewhere potentially between csmat 1 and 2, meaning brine below csmat 1 is at depth
    - there is no brine at all, of course that's an option but unlikely based on what we know
    -the down thrown block is somewhere potentially between csmat 1 and 2 which allows a continuous flow between our land and gxy et al.

    Thoughts?
