Samsung invested in SilaNanoTechnologies and are soon using the product in there smartwatch.

Does Samsung pay Sila for its part in the battery ?

Sila has to stay afloat, otherwise Samsungs investment goes down the toilet. And if Sila prosper, so does Samsung. And Seimens et all. They are part owners/shareholders !

I would think some sort of payment is made from Samsung to Sila. Otherwise Sila would be 'forced' to work extra hard to sell the same tech to another company, which would have to be a competitor to Samsung.

So Sila have to sell something to someone. Be it Samsung(so no competition for Samsung) or to others(competition for Samsung).

What is the point of Samsung investing in Sila ? To have access to the new technology and not have to share it ? OR
have 'first' access to gain the advantage and then share it around and take a piece of the action in the process as the technology is more widely used ? I actually dont know what the big plan is for Samsung.

What is the point of Samsung investing in the first place ? They may as well take it over completely if they want all the tech, not share and not pay for it.

I think there is a payment somewhere to Sila from Samsung. A reasonable price but something. Samsung get exclusivity at least for a few years. Then are in on the ground floor for all batteries sold in the future. That sounds like a good plan to me.

And the same plan we should shoot for with GS Yuasa !

My god I would like to know that is the company we have MTA#1 is with. And like to believe they are behind the capping of the SP so they can invest at a low price. Wish it was a high price but it is what it is now.
