Hey @h man in au. The person you mentioned about the house was me. This is the best stock investment I have made without a doubt. However its continued success is not without its drawbacks,. Like I have said on the forum before, that new at the time Korean SUV in our driveway was funded by selling x amount of A2M shares close to 2 years ago. Fast forward to today if we still drove the old faithful car that proceeded it till now and sold the same amount of shares it would of funded a Lamborghini Urus with some money left over to pay the extra insurance and fuel costs.
We sold enough shares to fund a purchase of a old knock down rebuild in the best street in a upmarket bayside suburb a few months prior to settlement. When the share price then dropped 20% it was too good to be true so I took a calculated risk and bought back in and sold out that parcel again and made another 20% prior to settlement. It has since gone on to go up another 40% since that time. Bugger.
We will need to sell down another lot to fund the $1.5m cost to build our dream home on the block which by the time we decide what we want to build, get permits and actually build it will take around another 2 years. My dilemma is if I wait till then its likely that amount of shares would of appreciated so much we could just go out and buy another new luxury developer build on a similar sized or bigger block and still have the block we bought to boot.
At the end of the day even the CEO and the BOD sell down A2 shares to fund big ticket items to enjoy life like the rest of us. Its all good to see it going up and up but it still hurts to see the SP double or more when you sell down or worse completely out like some others have in the past on this forum.
First world problems but I am happy to have the dilemma. Just like the discussion I had with Geoff B at the AGM. I knew the company would do well and be a success but never envisaged just like Geoff did, the speed and level of its success in the relatively short space of time it has taken to get to where it is. All of us early investors can thank our lucky stars that we picked such a winner over hundreds of other stocks on the ASX and got in on the ground floor and and enjoyed the express elevator ride to where we are now. You are right H Man, we still have a ton of stock and besides the wife and our accountant no one knows how many we have or what $$ value it has grown up to and that's another dilemma to be addressed when people are going to question how are we funding what we are doing further down the track.
