The Swedish Mining Inspectorate (“Mining Inspectorate” has decided, on January 11, 2019, to reject Tertiary Gold Ltd's application for a exploitation concession for the area Kyrkberget K nr 1 in the municipality of Storuman, Västerbotten County, Sweden

The establishment area is the core area for Ubmeje Tjeälddie sameby with several functions, some of which are designated as national interest for the reindeer industry.

Since coexistence between mining exploitation and the reindeer industry is not considered to be possible due to the location of the sand and clearing magazine and when the county administrative board considers that there are insufficient safeguards to propose to prevent substantial damage to the reindeer husbandry, the Mining Inspectorate has decided to reject Tertiary Gold Ltd's application.
