Maybe Pell  somehow did exactly what he was accused of but a couple of male teenagers are not a couple of malleable 5 year olds.  If it happened in the manner of the accusation something else must have happened previously.  

There were a few predators at the public high school I attended, the kids knew what went on, but they left it alone as a  private matter UNLESS it involved homosexual advances.  We have to remember the absolute peer level aversion to any aspect of homosexuality back in the day.  99% of male teenagers would simply resist any such advances with force as  necessary.  We didn't hear of male to male liaisons at my school because we didn't.   

I only heard of only one homosexual advance that happened to a classmate a few weeks after high school had finished for good.  The former teacher was simply  told to piss off.  That particular  school predator did sometimes  stand naked at swimming pool change rooms issuing instructions as if nothing were wrong.  I note that Pell is accused of exactly the same thing which was considered nothing in the day beyond being a bit weird.  Perhaps he was trying to sound out who amongst the group may have been more receptive to the situation.  Direct propositioning of a group of 2 or more male teenagers at random remains  completely out of the question.

Maybe what we are being told is redacted to protect the victims.  Perhaps the jury knows more than we do.    Pell is I believe guilty, but there is a lot  more to the story.
