I think we are forming similar conclusions regarding this issue.
Pell comes across as arrogant, harsh with victims of abuse, not likeable, and was possibly involved in covering up illegal activities of priests. How much have these negative perceptions swayed the jury into believing one person's testimony against his denials of being directly involved in abuse?
It's hard to understand how a conviction can be based on the testimony of one person when the defendant is pleading not guilty. The information published today regarding Pell's defense seems logical, prima facie it makes sense.
Are we now all one allegation from a single person away from being convicted of a sex crime? The appeal will be very interesting.
