My comments emanate from my time working in this sector witnessing Catapults’ 12 yeareffort, with A$120m+ of shareholders’ funds, trying to build a dominant global sports tracking company and now struggling with the reality of new competitors in their markets, of which Statsports is only one.
Catapult constantly reports rising revenues but remains highly unprofitable and seemingly has substantial management & product issues to be resolved before shareholders, who have seen losses of A$30m and >80% fall in value over the past few years, regain faith in the company.
Shareholders should really be asking Catapult, if they are, as they claim, the best system in the market, why aren't they winning the best EPL or European clubs [eg Juventis] or the National Federations, such as England & Germany, or why they have lost long term clients such asBrazil FA, or our F.F.A. - or why they didn't win the Chinese FA & The two US SoccerFederations deals? or many top Rugby Clubs & National Associations.
Seems to me that would be far more enlightening for shareholders than parlaying with me – I can’t help!
RWC - Just a few points re your post
1. Injury prevention is only one reason clubs use thesetools – speak to coaches & performance managers! Accurate, reliable, real-time data is what they need and there are numerous other third-party analyticssolutions into which that data can be made very valuable [ e.g. Kitman / S.A.P.]
2. Statistics need to be well founded to be meaningful – onyour list - I believe Watford [most unavailable days ] moved to KSport 3-4 years ago and Tottenham & Southampton [least unavailable days] have always been Statsports clients! makes a difference - but they are only stats!!!
3.you state "Commentators such as I makethe claim this must mean they also have the better product (excl price)"doubt it! But happy to retract if you find it. You see like most here I don’tknow enough to know which is the better system, or for what purposes the various clubs use them, but I do talk toclients of both and firmly believe the quality of reliable data, the smartsof analytics, and good customer service will win out in the near future.
