The labor fttp plan was ignorant and simply stupid, period.
First labor started the roll out in non economic regional areas for political reasons which proved stupid with the development of fttc.
If labor had of had any sense, they would have started the roll out of fttp in economic areas, even then every house could have cost a fortune to connect ie paved yards, brick fences ,rewiring the house etc ie not many houses had pipes connecting copper installed.
But it would have left open the option to take advantage of fttc in the more difficult to connect areas. .
And as far as saying copper is a waste of time, ask the regional/remote areas where the genius nbn continue to pull up the copper lines and replace the copper reliable service with the bs nbn sky muster satellite service.
I have satellite foxtel, satellite is crap.
nbn was far to political, and Fuga these experts u talk about r u referring to budde.com.Was Budde .com aware of the developments in fixed like fttc before he pushed so hard for 93% of premises to be connected to fttp, not to mention the development of 5g.?
