Over 100 million Alexa and 100m google homes have been sold to date. People originally feared this too. That someone was constantly listening to everything that was said in the home and somehow privacy would be an issue. This is clearly not the case and given the number of sales, I would suggest that fear is waning.

On that point, very few of the several hundred million sales are connected to smart lights. In fact, it estimated to be under 4%. The most common use of Alexa and google home are for playing songs/ music, Setting a timer for cooking, asking a question or finding out about the weather. The next stage of development and acceptance of this technology is to connect to smart lighting and smart appliances.The Amazon, and google know this and have been bundling lights with their sales. Promoting ( emails) light sales to those who they"know" are not connected to lights. LIFX being one of two with Philips Hue that connect to all the major 4 players, places them extremely well to capture this massive market in 2019-20.

So for those of you that fear that this is the end of a new fade, i would suggest, it has only JUST started for residential and yet to start for commercial/ industrial and retail.
