The past week I've seen the most fundamentally positive news re cobalt I can recall in a while. Enough going on, IMO, to make it reminiscent of this time last year or a bit before then, when the price started to break from 15 per lb.
- NCM 811 uptake deferred long way down the road - katanga offline to 2020 (indefinitely??) - Ford talking of going fishing way downstream - VW aspiring whole business pivot to EV - DRC new mining code (10% royalty for Co) into law, miners told to suck it up - Japanese party of political delegates w Panasonic, mitsubishi, honda reps travel to DRC to talk supply deals - US senate enquiry hearing... figured out they are left right out when it comes to EV and raw materials supply... again - LME to ban tainted cobalt suppliers
price reaction can't be that bloody far off!
