also your point about idea generation is what everyone thinks. People tend to overestimate their ability to discover ideas. I have no proof of this, but I am 99% sure that we have close to zero originality and ideas come from putting snippets we have seen here and there together (without consciously recognizing the source). If you read Johnson’s where good ideas come from- a lot of the game breaking ideas come from exaptation rather than de novo genesis.
if everyone is using twitter, HotCopper, news articles they are very likely to come to similar ideas, even if they are reached independently. As an exercise try to practice meta-cognition and see where your ideas are actually coming from. I can tell you that my ideas at the very least are rarely profound and come typically from mundane places.
