Judy, the price you 'purchase' at, includes brokerage plus total spent, divided by the number of shares. The scenario you used didn't show brokerage, but it would mean your 'purchase($)' with those details would be 8.322. If you are looking at an actual scenario on your 'portfolio', you need to include the brokerage cost, on your two purchases, to match the exact figure.
