I don't think any notice I have seen has indicated Van Eck are a seller. They bought 20M shares in the placement and then increased by another 3M after that. However between those two notices they were diluted a bit so their total holding declined as a percentage.
If you look at the INIVX holding list they have a relatively high allocation in the portfolio to WAF (for a company with $200M market cap). They hold more $ in WAF shares than Newcrest.

I have seen a few interviews with the INIVX portfolio manager and he has stated his preference for development projects and you can see that with their heavy weight in WAF, CDV and also GOR.
Reading about the incident with the Canadian geologist being killed is concerning and I would highly likely is responsible for the selling today.
No idea about Sprott selling.
When I have seen holding notices in other stocks from 1832 they seem to be more sentiment driven and I am guessing their fund might be more retail driven and more susceptible to gold price.
