Solar and Wind are not cheaper than conventional power, this is a myth. It would not survive or increase without government subsidies. People are forced to stick it on their roof because they receive feed in rebates to lessen their excessive power bills. Of course countries are building nuclear and clean coal power stations in their hundreds due to one reason - they provide cheaper reliable electricity.
