But I don't think anybody could say he is the reason we won the Final. Simpson had been building the side for years. I am sure Sam was a big help with the midfield along with Van Berlo but so were the ruck man who were injured and not playing in 2017.

I always thought as soon as we had good ruckmen that the midfielders would improve leaps and bounds and that is what happened.

The ruckmen are the ones to give the mids first use, if they dont get the taps it takes an elite Mid to still steal a clearance.
