I consider it as a good news. It is normal that more new entrances want to grab some share of a emerging market. In this news, Canopy Growth expect to have a annual production capacity of 7k kg CBD in Canada, and they cannot export those CBD to US. They have to find a partner in US and start over. However, Elixinol is already top 5 brand in US and have a annual capacity of over 8k kg CBD, with a plan to double the facility space in the medium term. clearly, EXL have the advantage.
IF those big Canadian cannabis player does not want to miss such a big opportunity, some partnership agreement and acquisitions will be on the schedule. they will have to pay a premium price for US hemp cbd companies, and push the valuation of all existing US hemp CBD business higher.
