They classify a beach as 20m of shore, so it is a bit misleading those stats

What I’m looking at is how many surfing breaks and swimming locations there are in WA, QLD, NSW etc as a start and basing numbers off that

They are rolling out extra drum lines with zero real scientific evidence they work, purely to make the public feel safer. These are a no brainer IMO

Just a day ago, Niall Blair the NSW Fisheries minister announced more “alarms”. I wonder if they have also secured NSW ? Byron is the deadliest beach in Australia for shark encounters
