Market sell-off is deepening in the US.
Global outlook not looking great.
My thinking is: in a world of rapid change, where the move to electric vehicles is a continuous process, will base & battery metals experience a decline in value in the coming years? I kind of think they won't. My thinking is that when you think of defensive stocks i.e. we all need food, we all need electricity - no matter the state of the economy, can't you add base & battery metals to that mix?
Secondly, in the aftermath of a world economic cycle where debt has run amok, won't PM's be back in vogue? (Thinking here of PEX's Silver / Gold resources, also 36% ownership of STN).
Thirdly, in a world of increasing tensions and posturing between the 'great powers' of these present times - the economic and military titans - won't they be eager to secure supplies and supply lines of base / battery / PM metals to bolster and ensure their continued paramountcy?
Also, with a declining AUD, won't Australia commodity exporters earn more in foreign exchange going forward?
So I am trying to understand the sell-off in Australian resource stocks.
Is it actually counter-intuitive?
Is it temporary yet inevitable, because when equity markets sell-off pretty much everything sells off?
What is the medium term outlook for Aussie resource stocks once this current correction ceases?
Are we entering a new global economic depression, and if yes, what is the longer term outlook for Aussie resource stocks.
Seems Peel are onto something at Wagga Tank / Southern Nights - a high-grade system with deep roots.
So is it going to be very valuable going forward, no matter the wider economic situation?
Is the market aware of what Peel has here, and is it interested in the story & the prize being uncovered?
