Whether someone holds 50,000 or 5,000,000 shares, each and every vote counts. In isolation, 50,000 or even 250,000 votes may seem insignificant but collectively - as @iceman747 has already said - retail shareholders still have a lot of clout.

Aji I recieved some break down of Share holdings a month or so ago. I think it was about 170 peeps with holdings over 1 mill and more than a 1000 holders on the register. ( dont have figures in front of me) this reinforces the voting power of the retail holders voting collectively.
