Please explain your post, is there some assertion you're making - laying blame? It is after all your own decision to invest - “Do your own research” “never bet what you can’t afford to lose” etc...With megafauna he was severely burnt and got out to save whatever he could at the time. I think he’s mid 60’s so you need to save whatever you can. Kudos to him for the foresight to get out when he did. If I had I’d have saved 30k too.
He is a wealth of knowledge on renewables in general and I think he couldn’t risk part of his “retirement” on the debacle that has been the last 2-3 years. If things in next couple days fall into place and things pickup before March 2020 you may find him back.
Kudos to megafauna for raising awareness of renewables. If you look at his posts many were factual based and rarely exhibited much emotion like many on the forum do these days.
