What I said was: ”as uranium mining and uranium extraction in Sweden was stopped in 1969”, e.i. not legally forbidden as uranium was still a concession mineral in the Minerals Act (1991: 45)

According to then applicable chapter 17, Section 6 of the Environmental Code, the government may only allow uranium mining if the City Council has approved this.

Note that, older regulations will still apply to applications granted before August 1st 2018, as stated by the transitional provisions. Cases of exploration permits and cases of renewal of exploration permits initiated by the Chief Mining Inspector before August 1st will also be subject to older regulations in accordance to the transitional provisions.
