I’d suggest that the Corruption Perceptions Index might be a more accurate gauge. It ranks nations by their perceived levels of public sector corruption and is the most widely used indicator of corruption worldwide.
Ranked 6th best in the world in 2017, Singapore actually outperforms Australia (13) and the United States (16).
