Found this in an analyst report from Macquarie last week. Talks about the desire for battery makers to source nickel-cobalt from areas other than the DRC for obvious reasons. GEM Co (China) investing $700m with 4 other companies to develop similar plant in Indonesia. Obviously there is significant demand for the finished product or else why spend the money to develop these things?? Going forward the catalyst that will separate the out-performers from the under-performers could be availability of ore to process, this I think puts QPM in a good spot. Don't forget also, majority of the infrastructure is already in place for QPM (rail, port) so if investors get behind this project and make capital available, they could get the jump on the rest!! QPM Directors kicking off tour this week, expect the interest to increase.
