Governments and corporations worldwide have been planning to phase out cash so they can track our every move and monetize our purchasing habits (ie. information is both control and profit). It's being sold to the public as technological advancements for our 'convenience'. And the younger generations are blindly following this edict, without question, because that's all they know (eg. few of them have experienced an economic recession or read books such as 1984, Brave New World, Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451 and Manufacturing Consent etc). Also they don't know who Edward Snowden is and even if they do they either don't care or don't understand what he sacrificed for society's betterment. A cashless world is not only already set in motion, it is ultimately inescapable.
