I have been confused on the timing of the next resources boom - I follow Martin Armstrong and his Socrates computer - he picks trends and the turning point for his economic confidence model is late November, 2018. In a nutshell, he see's the outer peripheries coming unstuck first - the EU, Japan, China, the developing nations and the capital will flow into the US stock-market and boost the US dollar incredibly high. (This is because the US $ is the reserve currency of the world - still - Yuan to follow, post 2030).  He is predicting a commodity crisis (food crops) post 2020 to mids and then the resources boom after 2024 - similar timelines to what you are suggesting? I think this time we in Oz will also feel real recessionary pain for the first time in 25 years. You should check him out - I did have his subscription service for the ASX 200 and it was incredibly accurate - I just did not know how to trade it! In essence he believes Gold/Silver (of which I am a collector) will go through the roof when the confidence in Governments collapses, as people realise that basic services and then pensions cannot be met and all the western Governments have in their arsenal is raising taxes.
