2) The debt to GDP ratio at the end of the World War II was much higher, having surpassed the 120% mark.

So, when you do something like this is also your duty to put things into perspective.

3) It helps if you guys can advance any plausible explanation for the government in the US to have been forced to resort to debt spending.
